Getting Ready for your
Visit to Origins
Be on time
Open networking starts at 7:45am. Our meeting starts at 8.00am sharp and ends at 9.30am. Open Networking continues till 11am
Prepare a 15-second Introduction
Don’t worry, despite sitting through numerous meetings, some of us are still as nervous as you. Just share a little about yourself, what you do and how you can collaborate with the people present. 15 seconds go by really quickly anyway.
Prepare ample Name cards
It will be good to prepare at least 20 more name cards or digital business card to network with others.
Farm & Collaborate
We gather together not to hunt businesses from one another but rather to explore means to build our businesses through referrals and collaborations together. We appreciate that you don’t push your business to our members and other visitors.
Stay for open networking
Don’t be in a hurry to rush off after 9.30am. Many of our members and visitors stay for open networking well after the meeting, so do budget about 30 minutes to an hour to mingle.
Come with an open mind

Common questions on BNI Origins and Networking
What is BNI Origins?
BNI Origins is a young, dynamic BNI networking chapter in Singapore where growth‑minded business owners meet weekly to build relationships, pass referrals and grow their businesses through a structured system.
What happens at a typical BNI meeting?
You’ll experience structured business networking: open networking, member and visitor introductions, education, referrals and updates on closed business, all within a clear agenda and time frame.
Will I be pressured to join?
No. You’ll learn how BNI works, meet members and see if the culture and system fit your business, and you can decide after the visit whether you’d like to explore membership. We do a stringent interview process to ensure quality members join our chapter
How do I become a member after visiting?
If you like what you see, you can apply through the chapter’s Membership Committee, who will review your application, references and category availability before approving membership.
Why does BNI only allow one person per profession?
BNI uses category exclusivity so each member can represent their trade without direct competitors in the same room, making it easier to focus on passing high‑quality referrals.
